Anindya Bakrie Welcomes President Jokowi Visit at Stanford University

United States– President Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bakrie & Brothers Anindya Novyan Bakrie, who is also an alumnus of Stanford University, welcomed President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his staff at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, Palo Alto, United States, last week.

On this occasion, President Jokowi was known to give a public lecture related to Indonesia's new capital city, IKN Nusantara. According to Anindya Bakrie, this opportunity became a historic event. 

"This is an impressive history where the President of Indonesia gave a speech at this Stanford University," wrote Anindya Bakrie thorugh his Instagram account, on Tuesday.

In welcoming the arrival of President Jokowi, Anindya Bakrie was also accompanied by friends and Stanford alumni such as Entrepreneur Pandu Sjahrir, Deputy for Infrastructure and Transportation Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Rachmat Kaimuddin.

"Welcome President Jokowi to give his remarks and I would like to thank you for taking the time. I know you were very busy during APEC and also previously in Washington DC and previously in Riyadh. Thank you Mr. Jokowi. Hopefully it will be useful for us," Bakrie said. 

Later, the event was also a lunch meeting with leaders of global giants from Silicon Valey/San Francisco such as , Meta/Facebook & Dropbox, Salesforce & Twitter, Eventbrite, Iconiq Capital, TPG &TPG Asia, and Doerr's Family - donors of the Stanford School of Sustainability. 

In a video uploaded by Anindya Bakrie on his Instagram account, the Head of State spoke about the problems facing the world. 

"That is the importance of connecting with fellow humans. Likewise, selection with nature. We know the world is currently not good with climate change, energy transition is a very urgent issue," the Head of State explained in a video.
