"This law empowers Jakarta to go beyond its current role as Indonesia's trade center and establish itself on the world stage," stated Suhajar Diantoro, Secretary General of the Ministry. He spoke at FMB9 forum titled "DKJ Law: The Future of Jakarta Post-Capital City,” quoted by VoxPop English.

Diantoro pointed to Jakarta's impressive track record under its previous special capital region status (DKI). The city boasts a thriving trade and economic sector, contributing a substantial 17% to the nation's GDP.
