Minister Assures Quality Hajj Services Despite Cost Reduction

Jakarta, VoxPop – Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar believes that this year’s reduction in hajj costs will be positively received by the public.
However, he emphasized that public happiness should not stop at the announcement of the cost reduction in January 2024.
The Minister hopes that all pilgrims will also feel satisfied and comfortable during the implementation of the hajj pilgrimage, which is scheduled for next June.
“We want people to not only smile in January but also in June when the hajj pilgrimage takes place without significant shortcomings experienced by the pilgrims,” the minister stated on Monday.

The government will continue to strive to provide the best services to pilgrims, ensuring that every aspect of the hajj implementation runs as expected.
This includes accommodation, transportation, and healthcare services, which are top priorities to ensure the pilgrims’ comfort.
This commitment reflects the government’s responsibility to ensure the success of the hajj pilgrimage, not only in terms of cost but also in the quality of services, Minister Umar emphasized.
"This is President Prabowo Subianto’s vision for us, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Hajj Organizing Agency (BPH), to find ways to further reduce the financial burden on pilgrims without compromising the quality of the hajj," he added.
The decision to reduce the hajj costs comes after the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Commission VIII of the House of Representatives (DPR) agreed today to lower the Hajj Implementation Fee (BPIH) for 1446 H/2025 M compared to the 2024 hajj costs.
This agreement was formulated during a working meeting between the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Commission VIII of the House of Representatives in Senayan, Jakarta.
The meeting concluded with an average BPIH for regular pilgrims amounting to IDR 89,410,258.79, assuming an exchange rate of 1 USD at IDR 16,000 and 1 SAR at IDR 4,266.67.
