Jakarta, VoxPop – has officially launched the iPhone 16e, the latest iPhone model that replaces the iPhone SE series and joins the iPhone 16 lineup. Officially arriving in Indonesia on last Friday.
The iPhone 16e targets users who want to experience the iPhone ecosystem at a more affordable price without sacrificing essential performance and features.
It serves as a more budget-friendly alternative to the regular iPhone 16.
Despite being more affordable, the device still packs capable features and specifications, though with some adjustments.
According to iBox's website, the iPhone 16e is priced from IDR 12,499,000 to IDR 18,999,000—cheaper than the iPhone 16, which starts from IDR 14,999,000 and goes up to IDR 21,999,000.
The main difference between the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16e lies in the design.
The iPhone 16e adopts a look reminiscent of the 2018 iPhone XR, featuring a large notch integrated with the bezel, unlike the iPhone 16, which uses the Dynamic Island design.
On the back, the iPhone 16e is equipped with a single 48 MP main camera without any additional camera modules, while the iPhone 16 carries two cameras: a 48 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultrawide lens that supports advanced photography features like wide-angle shots and enhanced zoom.
Still, both devices are powered by the same Apple A18 chip, consisting of a 6-core CPU, a 16-core Neural Engine, and a GPU—5-core for the iPhone 16 and 4-core for the iPhone 16e.
Interestingly, the iPhone 16e becomes the first device to use Apple’s in-house 5G modem, called C1, replacing Qualcomm’s modem used in the iPhone 16.
When it comes to battery life, the iPhone 16e surprisingly outperforms the regular model, offering up to 26 hours of video playback compared to 22 hours on the iPhone 16.

This is a significant difference, making the iPhone 16e appealing to users who prioritize longer battery life for daily activities.
