There are many different kind of adenovirus and one of being researched by health officer is 41F. They all can caused different symptoms but 40 and 41, known triggered Gastroenteritis, usually on children.

How is it related to Hepatitis?

A report by UKHSA explain some different reasons for hepatitis outbreak. This includes connection during lockdown due to corona virus. Which means that children didn’t exposed with the virus. UKHSA are in investigation that the previous COVID infection can be the reason. Found that 75 percent children with hepatitis can have adenovirus too.

“Adenovirus initial typing has been consistent with the 41F type where available data provided from blood sample, but other kind of adenovirus has been identified with non-blood sample.” Written that report.

Routine data scan has taken the common circulatin virus through the children higher than couple years before, with the enhancement adenovirus that tagged on 1-4 year group.

Dr Meera Chand, clinical director dan infection that appeared on UKHSA, says information that has been gathered through our investigation shows increase in sudden hepatitis on children related on adenovirus infection.

“But, we are however, we are investigating the other potential. Parents must watch out the sign of hepatitis and for calling the health’s professional, if they worried.” She said.

Steps for keep hygiene such as thorough hand washing (including supervising children) and good respiratory hygiene. It also helps reduce the spread of many common infections, including adenovirus.
