Papua Youth Creative Hub Inaugurated as Facility for Young Papuans

VoxPop – Papua Youth Creative Hub (PYCH) was created as a facility to improve the quality of human resources, especially young Papuans. President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has inaugurated the PYCH building in Jayapura on Tuesday.

"I feel very proud that the request of 23 Papuan young people whom I invited to the palace to have a space for empowerment to improve the quality of Human Resources today we can see together at the Papua Youth Creative Hub in Jayapura," President Jokowi stated in his remarks, on Tuesday.

According to President Joko Widodo, the construction of PYCH is the first in Indonesia. He hopes many programs will also be presented in several other regions such as in East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua, Maluku, and Aceh so that young people can explore their various potentials.

"I was surprised, it turns out that this PYCH presents many facilities such as facilities for making cellphones, making laptops, there is a podcast room, there is a music studio, a photography studio, and also a place to showcase typical Papuan products." The President explained.



President Jokowi believes that the young generation in Papua and other regions will be more advanced if given a platform to develop their creativity and abilities.

He said that with the construction of the Papua Youth Creative Hub, the Government wants to provide opportunities for young Indonesians who have creativity, innovation, and great desire to move in developing their goals.

"Because I see opportunities, opportunities, opportunities in Papua are still very large for young people to enter. And we hope that this can provide an increase in welfare, provide an increase in progress to the people of Papua that we love," President Joko Widodo

"Today, I inaugurate the Papua Youth Creative Hub and launch the creation and innovation products of the Papua Youth Creative Hub in Jayapura, Papua Province," the President added.

As is known, the construction of the PYCH is a manifestation of a follow-up meeting between President Jokowi and Inspirational Papuan Young Leaders in September 2019 at the State Palace.
