Minister: Toll Discount for Eid al-Fitr 2025 Still Under Discussion

Jakarta, VoxPop – The Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo, emphasized that his ministry is still discussing the formulation of toll road discounts for the 2025 Eid al-fitr period.
He stated that President Prabowo Subianto has instructed the implementation of toll road discounts.
In the process, the Ministry of Public Works has begun discussions on toll discounts with the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) and Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT). Hanggodo hopes that the formulation of the toll discount will be announced soon.
“The exact numbers are not available yet, but we’ve started discussions. In fact, today the Head of BPJT is holding a Zoom meeting with all the business entities. Hopefully, in the near future, we can announce it together with Coordinating Minister (Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono) and regarding plane ticket discounts as well,” said minister Hanggodo on Tuesday (Feb 18).

However, the discussions between BPJT and BUJT have not yet resulted in an agreement regarding the amount of the toll discount.
“We’re still discussing the details. President Prabowo did not specify the percentage of the toll discount. We’ll work out the specifics during the discussion,” he remarked.
The same sentiment was echoed by the Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY). He stated that the discounts for toll roads and plane tickets have not yet been finalized.
Nevertheless, President Prabowo has instructed that ticket prices and transportation costs should be made more affordable.
“We’re targeting to announce it soon, hopefully in the near future. We need some time, but we understand that it cannot be delayed too much, as people start booking tickets at least a month in advance of Eid,” minister AHY explained.
