Prabowo: Indonesia Plans Airfare Discounts Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2025

Jakarta, VoxPop – President Prabowo Subianto has promised that airline ticket prices will decrease two weeks before Eid al-Fitr 2025.
Currently, the government is still preparing for the reduction in airfare for those traveling home for Ramadan this year.
"We are also preparing for a decrease in airline ticket prices over the next two weeks," President Prabowo said during a press conference at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta, on Friday (Feb 28).
Not only airline tickets, but President Prabowo also pledged to lower toll road tariffs during the Eid homecoming and return traffic in 2025.
On that occasion, the head of state mentioned that he had instructed his officials to ensure a smooth Eid homecoming in 2025.
"The Minister of Transportation, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, the Minister of Public Works, and all relevant ministers will continue to monitor and ensure that all transportation facilities and public services run smoothly, safely, and make it easier for people to travel home," the president explained.

Earlier, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed that for the 2025 Eid al-Fitr National Religious Holiday (HBKN), the government had prepared several stimulus packages for the public. One is the continuation of the airfare discount program.
Minister Hartarto stated that this stimulus aims to maintain economic growth momentum during Eid al-Fitr 2025.
"We were sustaining economic growth momentum. The government is encouraging stimulus during Lebaran by continuing the program from last year’s Christmas and New Year holidays, which provided airline ticket discounts," the minister said some time ago.
During the 2024 Christmas and New Year holidays, the government offered a 10% discount on airline tickets.
As for Eid al-Fitr, the government is still discussing the exact amount of the discount to be provided.
